Shop worker’s ‘beautiful’ gesture that left family blown away

A woman who was touched by a shop worker’s kind gesture said she made the “right decision” to move to Merseyside.

Wendy said she has just moved to St Helens from Northamptonshire and was blown away by how “lovely” people are.

It came after she received a call from a furniture shop she had recently visited in the town called Bensons for beds, who rang to offer her a free double wardrobe which had been on display in the store.

Posting about what happened on community Facebook page, Wendy said “no one has ever done anything like that for us EVER.”

She wrote: “We have just moved here from Northamptonshire and the people here are just so lovely.

“We have to furnish our house from scratch and we popped into Benson’s beds to buy a couple of beds and about 2 hours after placing our order, I received a call from them asking if we would like a ex display double wardrobe, for free!!

“The manager needed to get it out the showroom before today because they were getting brand new stock and they needed the space and he had over heard us saying that we had to completely furnish our house from top to bottom.

“Needless to say we jumped at the offer because let’s face it who wouldn’t. No one has ever done anything like that for us EVER.

“I knew we had made the right decision to move here. Thank you so much Benson’s beds and the beautiful, friendly people of St Helens for making our move here that little bit easier.”
