A pub has had to close its doors after a customer who visited at the weekend tested positive for coronavirus.
Sue’s Bar, on Argyle Street in Birkenhead, made the announcement on Facebook that the venue would be shut this week.
A spokesperson said the decision was made after a patron let them know about the positive test result.
Making other customers aware, the bar assured people the pub was only going to be closed for two days.
During this time a deep clean would be carried out to make sure it was safe for people to come back this weekend.
In the post, they said: “We have had a customer in the pub this weekend who has tested positive for the coronavirus so we have made the decision to close the bar for two days while we do a deep clean.”
Underneath the post customers commented to ask about the track and trace system and whether they would be contacted but it is not yet clear if this has taken place.
Another customer commented to say they had been asked to provide details on multiple occasions when entering the pub.
Julie Rodgers said: “I have been in Sue’s a few times and always give track and trace details.
“You are told to give them as you enter so it is then upon yourself to leave details.

“Social distancing is always in place.
“If you are that worried and scared, then don’t go as people know how serious it can be.
“It is your choice to go out and socialise.”
