New first of its kind dog bingo event coming to Liverpool this week

A dog-friendly bingo session is set to take place in Liverpool this week.

Buzz Bingo, the UK’s largest bingo operator, is set to trial its first ever ‘Dog Bingo’ sessions.

The pet-friendly games are taking place across the UK in celebration of National Dog Day, which falls on Thursday, August 26.

Buzz Bingo have announced the sessions following a series of research, which revealed pet-owners in the UK have spent 28 million hours less per day with their dogs since lockdown restrictions were eased.

It was also revealed that 39% of those who own dogs have felt guilty since restrictions were entirely eased on Freedom Day, as they have spent a lot more time away from home, leaving their beloved pets to entertain themselves.

And with further research showing nine out of 10 owners struggle to find dog-friendly venues, Buzz Bingo decided to create Dog Bingo sessions, allowing owners to spend more time with their pets.

Mark Fletcher, head of brand at Buzz Bingo, said: “So many of our customers are doting dog owners and with the UK opening back up again, we also know it can be hard to balance pet-parenting life with going out and having fun again – especially if venues don’t permit dogs.

“That’s why we wanted to trial a series of dog-friendly sessions this National Dog Day – we want to make it easier for our customers to come out and socialise without the guilt of leaving their pups alone.”

The sessions are set to take place at various Buzz Bingo venues across the UK, including Liverpool’s bingo hall at Stonedale Park.

Owners will be greeted with a glass of fizz on arrival, while pets can enjoy snacks and refreshments, including ‘pup-corn’ and ‘pawsecco’.

The Dog Bingo sessions will take place Thursday, August 26 from 3.20pm until 4pm.

Buzz Bingo Liverpool is located at Unit 16 Stonedale Park, East Lancashire Road, L11 9DH. To find out more about Buzz Bingo, click here.
