Police pulled over a Ford Ka in Dock Road, Wallasey, at around 11am today.
The 25-year-old driver was tested at the roadside for drugs after officers noticed an “unrestrained child” in the rear seat.
Merseyside Police Roads Policing Unit said on Twitter: “Female driver stopped due to carrying unrestrained child In rear seat.
“Provided positive roadside drug test for cannabis and cocaine.”
A spokeswoman for the force said the woman had been taken into custody for questioning.
