Marks & Spencer shoppers love new ‘very flattering’ £28 top

The newly launched Soft Touch Longline Knitted Waistcoat is available in three versatile shades

Marks & Spencer shoppers are praising a brand new spring release which is already ‘trending’ on the website. Priced at £28, the Soft Touch Longline Knitted Waistcoat features a tailored design with a slim fit, longline body, and button down front.

Despite its smart look, the waistcoat is crafted from a cosy soft-touch fabric making it a comfy pick. Shoppers can choose between three shades including midnight navy, nutmeg, and cappuccino which are all versatile options for a capsule wardrobe.

Sizes range from extra small to extra large, with shoppers generally voting that the piece ‘runs a little small’. Those wanting to add a layer underneath may also wish to size up.

Waistcoats are a smart-casual classic and M&S isn’t the only place to find them. Next stocks an economical option with The Set 2 Pack Knitted Waistcoat With Wool Cream/Chocolate Brown Marl for £28 which makes each one work out at around £14.

Fans of a discount can also currently snap up the Nobody’s Child Burgundy Polka Dot Longline Waistcoat for the reduced price of £26, usually retailing for £85. It’s also available in plain burgundy for the reduced price of £39, usually listed for £79.

At the time of writing, the new M&S release is fully stocked, although we don’t predict this to last long. Close to 100 units have already sold in the last five days, and shoppers have been quick to share positive feedback in the reviews section.

One five star reviewer said: “I have never worn a waistcoat so thought I would try this one. Lovely fabric, fit is good, very nice. Not washed yet so cannot comment.”

Another shopper said: “Lovely waistcoat can dress up or casual – very flattering.”

A third fan wrote: “Lovely! Really nice material and weight. Reasonably priced too!”

This shopper called the waistcoat “smart and useful”, however, they did note a couple of areas for improvement, continuing: “A snug fit but well made. If it had pockets it would be even better.”

On the other hand, this shopper found the sizing too small to keep the garment, and ended up taking it back. They said: “Nice but too narrow. I would have kept it if it had been cut to the standard M&S sizes.”

Shoppers can browse the colours an sizes on the M&S website.
