One of Liverpool’s longest running restaurants has won a major food award despite, like many hospitality businesses, its team having to deal with a challenging year.
Italian restaurant Casa Italia took to its Instagram account to share its good news with its followers, of which it has more than 11,000.
Casa Italia opened in Liverpool more than 30 years ago and has remained in the same family through the decades.
Taking to its Instagram feed it shared the news it had been awarded “best food delivery” in the city by Restaurant Guru.

Its post said: “Thank you Restaurant Guru for awarding us with Best Food Delivery in Liverpool.
“It’s been a challenge, but worthwhile seeing our customers happy through such unprecedented times! Don’t forget we have 20% off all collection and delivery orders until Jan.”
At the height of the pandemic, Casa Italia made some big changes in order to continue to serves its customers best.
Its team opened a dedicated delivery unit on Regent Street, close to the city centre. This means customers unable to get to its restaurant can still enjoy their favourite dishes.

Responding to the news, fans were quick to congratulate the team. One user said: “That’s brilliant- well done and well deserved.
