The bomb disposal unit descended on a Merseyside beach on Sunday night with a large area cordoned off by authorities.
A number of police vehicles could be seen at the scene, with one witness reporting seeing five police cars and the bomb disposal unit.
Walkers and visitors to the beach were moved away from the area, with a number of people remaining to watch the scene.
The cordon is located close to the Morrisons car park, where the parade meets the marine lake and the beach.
It’s unclear at this point what the nature of the incident is that led to bomb disposal officers being called out.
Merseyside Police and the Force Incident Manager were approached for comment by the ECHO.
