Trying a new restaurant can put many people off, especially if they’re a picky eater or reluctant to stray from their usual favourites.
This week, I was tempted to try something new after hearing good things about a particular restaurant – and it was the best decision I could have made.
I chose Ohannes Burger, based on Cases Street in Liverpool city centre, which opened for delivery back in April.
The company prides itself on using only the freshest ingredients, making all its own burgers and sauces fresh, daily. The only thing it doesn’t make is the buns.
And you can definitely tell the food is freshly made using good quality ingredients.
So what did we order?
The Ohannes Burger menu is extensive and with each scroll of the screen the options sounded more and more delicious, so we did take a while to settle on what to get.
However, the Pulled Beef Burger (£8.49) stood apart from the rest, as well as the Buttermilk Chicken Burger (£6.49), Mozzarella Sticks (3.99) and Buttermilk Chicken Bites (£4).
Each of the burgers came with Ohannes Burger Seasoned Fries too.
How was the delivery?
The food arrived quickly and efficiently, within around 20 minutes of ordering. It also arrived piping hot and in sturdy, good quality packaging featuring the Ohannes Burger logo.
Each meal was clearly marked and came with a number of small pots of aioli.
We were also provided with several Ohannes Burger wet wipes.
What was it like?
The Pulled Beef Burger was, without a doubt, the best burger I’ve ever eaten. It arrived still piping hot, featuring slow-cooked pulled beef topped with handmade BBQ mayo, melted cheese, slow-cooked caramelised onions, fresh tomato, lettuce, pickle and BBQ sauces, stacked on a sweet glazed pretzel bun.
The burger was filled with taste, juicy but not overly so and delightfully layered so you could taste each and every ingredient.

The pretzel bun added a sweetness I’d have never known I needed, with the soft, doughy bread holding the large burger together.
The burger came with a side of Seasoned Fries, which are chunky, crispy chips featuring the restaurant’s signature seasoning – they paired perfectly with the fresh, homemade aioli provided.
The Buttermilk Chicken Burger featured chicken breast coated in buttermilk, topped with melted cheese slices, fresh aioli, and hot sriracha stacked in a sweet glazed pretzel bun. The burger was served with Seasoned Fries and fresh aioli.
The chicken burger was filled with flavour and offered an enjoyable texture as the crispy chicken met the doughy bun.
The Mozzarella Sticks were crispy to the touch but melted perfectly in the middle, pulling apart delightfully. The Buttermilk Bites were light and crispy and made the perfect side to go with our burgers.
It’s safe to say that I’ll be ordering again soon.
Ohannes Burger is available on JustEat, Deliveroo and UberEats.
