Knifeman still walking the streets after man stabbed in house

A knifeman who stabbed a man in the stomach remains on the loose.

On Wednesday Merseyside Police descended on a residential street after a man was stabbed inside a house.

Merseyside Police confirmed emergency services were called out to Rodney Street in Birkenhead.

A spokeswoman for the force said that at around 4.30pm yesterday police received reports of a 26-year-old male with a stab wound to the stomach at a property on Rodney Street.

A knife was recovered by police.

The knifeman behind the stabbing remains at large.

Today Merseyside Police said that “no arrests have been made”.

The stabbing victim was taken to hopsital but today police said his condition was not serious.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

On Wednesday Detective Inspector Matt Caton said: “We are in the very early stages of an investigation following the incident this afternoon, and I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident or was in the Rodney Street area at the time with any information to please get in touch.”
