I’ve reached a point in my life where I basically live in either smart work clothes or loungewear, nothing in-between.
Loungewear bought either as a pair or separately can often rack up in price, which is why I’ve recently been on the hunt for some more affordable options. I spotted a stunning loungewear set advertised on the Home Bargains Instagram, so I headed to the store on Lord Street to see if I could snap it up.
Although I couldn’t find that particular set, I did come across a matching white teddy bear set that looked cosy to say the least. Considering this was priced at £14, I was chuffed with the quality at first glance.

If I’m being totally honest, there was one aspect about the loungewear set that put me off initially. It was the fact that the cosy hoodie came with matching shorts instead of trousers, but I purchased them anyway in hope that I wouldn’t be too cold.
I took the set home and tried it on as I got in, and my opinions were mixed. The quality of the loungewear set itself was absolutely incredible for the price, and relatively thick too.
What I really liked about this set was the fact that it wasn’t uncomfortably thick or hot. Wearing thick loungewear can have its advantages, but sometimes, it can become hot and uncomfortable, especially if you’re wearing the set in bed.
The loungewear was breathable yet soft and fluffy, which was a combination of all the right things. I loved the fact that the hoodie was cropped and the hood was a nice addition for maximum warmth.
Although the shorts were comfortable to wear, I found myself feeling far too chilly to wear them around the house. I feel like this loungewear set would probably be better closer to spring than winter, because my legs were absolutely freezing when I wore it.
I couldn’t quite understand why the set featured shorts instead of trousers, especially this time of year, but they were still comfortable at least. In terms of aesthetics, the loungewear did look cute, but I just couldn’t get over the goosebumps on my legs!
In the end I switched to a pair of joggers and wore those with the comfortable hoodie instead. I can confirm that the hoodie is equally as comfortable to sleep in as pyjamas, so maybe I’ll give the shorts a whirl too. You can find your nearest Home Bargains store here. The set is currently priced at £14.
