Be honest, you can’t really beat eggs for breakfast can you?
No matter which way you choose, add some toast or a bagel and it’s one of the best breakfast dishes you can get.
The humble meal has become trendy in the restaurant industry, with the additions of ingredients such as avocado or chilli flakes to jazz it up.
But as easy as it is to make at home, many of us seem to get it wrong.
We’ve taken a look at some of the best – and fool proof – ways to get the perfect poached and scrambled eggs for breakfast below.
How to make the perfect poached eggs
Ingredients:
-
1 egg
-
Half a mug of water/ 200ml
Method:
-
Fill half a mug with water.

Use a large spoon to dish the egg out of the mug and pop it on kitchen paper to drain.
-

How to make the perfect scrambled eggs
Earlier this year, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver shared the one mistake many make when trying to cook scrambled eggs and shared his go-method.
Jamie Oliver’s method takes around ten minutes and requires only eggs and unsalted butter – no milk.

Method
-
Crack the eggs into a measuring jug.
-
Add a tiny pinch of sea salt and black pepper, then use a fork to beat them together well.
-
Put a medium saucepan over a low heat and add the butter.
-
Leave it to melt slowly, then when it starts to bubble carefully pour in the eggs.
-
Stir slowly with a wooden spoon, or a spatula if you’ve got one, so you can get right to the edges of the pan.
-
Keep gently stirring until the eggs still look silky, slightly runny and slightly underdone, and then remove from the heat – the heat of the pan will continue to cook the eggs to perfection.
-
Serve with lightly buttered toast
