Desperate search for families of 15 men who died alone

Today loved ones of 15 men who died alone in Merseyside were urged to come forward amid the prospect some could be laid to rest in lonely Eleanor Rigby-style funerals.

Merseyside Police on behalf of coroner’s officers has released the names of people who have died alone.

The search is on to trace their relatives.

Otherwise they could be laid to rest in lonely funerals like Eleanor Rigby, in the famous Beatles song.

Today the ECHO lists the names of people who have died in Merseyside and who police issued next of kin appeals with a hunt for family members drawing a blank.

In some cases people are buried or cremated without the presence of relatives in what is known as a public health funeral organised by the local authority.

None of the deaths are being treated as suspicious but it’s important to try and find any relatives who may be unaware they have died.
