Big events are starting to return to our theatres and venues post-lockdown but many will wonder what are the current rules and procedures in place to ensure audiences can attend safely.
No one wants to be refused entry so 2Chill has created a handy guide to help you prepare for your evening of entertainment in Liverpool.
So if you are getting back to live music, concerts, shows – here’s what Covid passport guidance are in place at top venues across the city.
Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and Empire Theatre
For entry to all events, ticket holders aged 18 and over, unless medically exempt, will need to demonstrate on arrival at the venue, proof of COVID-19 status by providing:
- Proof of full vaccination – both doses received (with the second dose at least 14 days prior to the arrival at the venue) by using the NHS App, an NHSCovid Pass or by presenting your Covid Vaccination Card or any overseas proof of vaccination status; or
- Proof of a negative NHS Rapid Lateral Flow Test (test to be taken up to 48 hours at home or at a test centre prior to attending the event at the venue); or
- Proof of natural immunity based upon a positive PCR test within 180 days of arrival at the venue (and after the 10-day self-isolation period following the result).
Those under the age of 18 should have verbal confirmation from a parent or guardian that they have not received a positive Covid-19 test.
You will also be able to show text or email confirmation of test results or vaccine status.
The Everyman and The Playhouse Theatres
You do not need to show a ‘vaccine passport’ or negative test to attend but they do ask If you start to display any symptoms associated with Covid-19, to take a test and follow the latest Government advice.
If you are unable to attend due to a positive result, let the venue know by 11am on the day of the performance and they will move you to another performance or, if this is not possible, offer you a full refund or credit on your account to be used in the future.
M&S Bank Arena
Existing ticket holders for forthcoming events will be contacted directly via email if Covid Vaccination Certifications are confirmed as an entry requirement for the event they are due to attend.
They have said they will keep customers informed every step of the way as we all get back to enjoying full capacity live events.
Customers attending events at the M&S Bank Arena will be directed to use the entrance nearest to their seat. An allocated entrance door will be clearly marked on your ticket. Due to the relaxing of mandatory Covid measures, door times will revert to original times of one hour prior to the show.
Arrival for events taking place in The Auditorium at the M&S Bank Arena remains through the main entrance to the Convention Centre via the Galleria.
However, during Covid restrictions, the arena introduced a No Bag policy for all events, this now remains in place as a standard arena security measure across the UK.
If a bag is absolutely necessary and for essential items only, this will need to be a see-through bag to allow for efficient, thorough and hygienic security checks. Only one clear bag is permitted per person.
02 Academy
To gain entry to the O2 Academy, you will need to either show a negative COVID-19 result, have natural immunity or be fully vaccinated.
You will need to demonstrate your COVID-19 status by providing either: proof of a negative NHS Rapid Lateral Flow Test or proof of receiving two jabs.
However you cannot take a lateral flow home test strip to the venue as proof nor can you use a card issued at vaccination centres.
You should use the NHS COVID Pass to show your status using the NHS App or the NHS website to download it as a PDF or get it sent to you in an email.
The Royal Court
The Royal Court is continuing to ask audiences to wear face coverings as they move around the building with temperature checks and one-way systems being kept in place in the socially distanced areas.
Audience members are encouraged to do their bit in stopping the spread of the virus by taking a COVID test beforehand.
Their Covid Refund Guarantee remains in place, therefore if anybody needs to isolate or has any symptoms of Covid then they can get in touch with the Box Office and move their tickets to a suitable date or request or a refund.
